Gifts in Memory of or in Honor of…

In moments of joy, gratitude, or sadness, we often search for the right way to commemorate or honor a special person. Goldey-Beacom College welcomes gifts made in memory of or in honor of individuals.

Your gift can be made to the Annual Fund for support of our scholarship program. Donors may sometimes direct their support for specific purposes, depending on the amount of funding and with the approval of the College. The procedures for making such gifts are the same as those described under Sending Your Gift.

We will send you a receipt acknowledging your gift. More important, we will send a letter announcing the memorial gift to the family of the deceased. For a gift in honor of a living individual, the procedure is similar, though the honoree will receive the information. If several donors contribute to a single gift, we will provide all names and addresses in our letter to the family or individual.

If you wish to make a larger gift, consider a named endowed scholarship. This provides a lasting honor when the College invests your gift and uses the revenue for scholarships for needy students. Take a moment to review Endowment Gifts. You may also wish to provide a funded scholarship, agreeing to a single gift or a set amount over a given time period.

Many donors have requested a named gift opportunity. These larger gifts allow the College to name a room or facility to honor the individual. The James and Rose Julian Chapel, the Michele M. Rollins Atrium, and the Harry Levin Lounge are current examples of such warm recognition found on campus.
