Career Fairs
Career Fairs are held
annually in the Fall and Spring semesters, as well as an Internship Fair
held in January or February. It is a great opportunity for companies to come on campus
and meet face to face with GBC students and alumni.
-
Why attend the Career Fair?
-
Who should attend the Career Fair?
-
EVERYONE! The Career Fair should benefit all students
and alumni, whether you are looking for an internship, full time, or
part time work. The wide variety of employers are looking for
college students and alumni with degrees.
FRESHMAN/ SOPHOMORES: Gain experience in networking with employers;
see what careers are available and what you need to gain to get your
foot in the door.

“hands on experience” that leads to a possible permanent career.

expectations and lifestyle.
GRADUATE STUDENTS: Search for the next step up with a company that
will recognize your achievements.
-
How do I prepare for the Career Fair?
- Bring plenty
of resumes.
You should have at least 40 to 50 on resume paper,
(light ivory or off white). Before making several copies, have
another set of eyes view for any misspellings or typos. Contact

- Research the
employers prior to attending.
(See list of employers on
www.gbc.edu/career) Recruiters will be impressed if you know
something about their company prior to visiting their tables.
- Be
Professional.
First impressions count. Make excellent eye contact
and give a firm handshake to every employer.
- Dress in
professional attire. A dark solid color suit, or nice pressed
pants and/or skirt and a button down collared shirt, with matching
blazer. NO JEANS OR SWEATS PLEASE!
