HUM 103 -
Humanities I: Our Cultural Heritage (3 Credits)
This course explores the cultural and intellectual roots of
Western society through an integrated study of the humanities. As defined
by the course, humanities encompasses man's search for meaning and
expression; his journey to know and understand his world. Students will
explore this definition on the historical, philosophical, literary, and
aesthetic levels.
HUM 104 -
Humanities II: Roots of the Modern World (3 Credits)
This course explores man's cultural and intellectual roots
through an integrated study of the humanities. It traces the secular and
scientific thought patterns of contemporary society by discovering and
developing these ideas from the Renaissance through the twentieth century.
The course develops the philosophical, historical, literary, and aesthetic
themes of that period through selected readings, films, slides, and
musical selections. |
