Sending Your Gift

The most convenient way to send a gift to Goldey-Beacom College is by using our online gift form. Fill in the form, return it online, and we will acknowledge your gift by letter. If you prefer, print out the form and mail it to the College.

You may make a gift by check at any time. Make the check payable to Goldey-Beacom College, and mail it to Development Office, 4701 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808. Send us a note with your gift, or for more convenience, use the online gift form. In a few days, you will receive an acknowledgement for your tax purposes.

You may also make a gift by credit card to Goldey-Beacom College. You can use Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover Card. You may specify which month(s) you wish the gift to be charged to your card, and many donors choose to spread a more generous gift over several credit card installments. Contact us at (302) 225-6273 for more information or use our online gift form with the necessary information.

You may make a pledge to Goldey-Beacom College today and complete the payment at a later and more convenient date. Many donors find they may make a more generous gift by pledging several installments over a year. We will send you a reminder when your pledge is due, and you may choose then if you wish to pay by check, credit card, or other means. Fill out the online gift form or call us at (302) 225-6273.

Of course, gifts of cash can always be accepted, but should never be sent by mail. You may bring a cash gift to the Goldey-Beacom Business Office where you will be given the appropriate receipt acknowledging your gift.

The College also will accept gifts of real estate or personal property. Some items, such as books, art, or archival material, can be used in our educational mission. Other property, such as precious metals, real estate, or other valuables, is unrelated to our educational mission but can still be accepted as gifts. If the gift is related to our mission, you are entitled to a charitable deduction for the full fair market value of the property subject to ceiling and carryover restrictions.

If the property is not of a type that the College can use in its educational mission, the College must be free to sell the property and use the proceeds. In this case, your charitable contribution deduction is limited to the lesser of your cost basis or the fair market value. It is important that you evaluate the tax consequences of such gifts with your tax advisor. Contact us at (302) 225-6273 or at gift@gbc.edu.
