Commencement Speaker

Sam CalagioneThe 2015 Commencement Speaker will be Sam Calagione, Founder and President of Dogfish Head Craft Brewery.

Starting with a home-brew kit making ten bottle batches, Sam now produces one of America’s fastest growing beers. He has truly earned the reputation of producing "off-centered beer for off-centered people" through his innovative combination of flavors and ingredients, coupled with innovative marketing.

His entrepreneurial endeavors have moved beyond brewing to include restaurants, fashion, and lodging. He hosted Discovery Channel’s "Brew Masters" series which looked at beer production world-wide, while focusing on his operations here in Delaware. He was chosen Business Man of the Year by the Small Business Association, and named the "Game Changer for 2010" by Huffington Post. He is a five-time nominee for the prestigious James Beard Award for wine and spirits.

Live Broadcast

The Commencement ceremony will be broadcast live online on Friday, May 1, 2015, starting at 3:30 pm EDT. A recorded version will be available after the event.
