2022 Graduates--the GBC community is excited to celebrate your academic accomplishment and recognize that you have achieved greater! Below, you will find important details about the lead-up to Commencement as well as both Commencement Ceremonies! Commencement Ceremonies – Friday, April 29th, 2022 | Joseph West Jones Center Gymnasium

  • Ceremonies
    • Undergraduate Ceremony begins at 10:00 AM
      • Doors open at 8:30 AM
      • Final Line-Up for the Processional at 9:30 AM – Arrive no later than 9:15 AM
      • This ceremony is anticipated to end by Noon
    • Graduate and Doctoral Ceremony begins at 2:00 PM
      • Doors open at 12:30 PM
      • Final Line-Up for the Processional at 1:30 PM – Arrive no later than 1:15 PM
      • This ceremony is anticipated to end by 4:00 PM
  • Tickets
    • Tickets are not required for either Ceremony. We ask that you limit the number of guests to 4 individuals (5 including yourself).
  • Masks/COVID-19 Vaccinations
    • Masks are not required. However, anyone who chooses to wear a mask or practice social distancing are welcome to do so!
    • Vaccinations for COVID-19 are not required. The College encourages individuals who are unvaccinated to consider getting vaccinated.
  • Arrival for Graduates and Guests & Parking
    • Graduates should arrive no later than 15 minutes prior to the Final Line-Up for the Processional and should proceed to the Event Center.
    • Guests should arrive at the same time as their graduate, and should proceed to the Joseph West Jones Center Gymnasium. Seating for guests will be first-come first-served.
    • On-campus parking is available. Entry to the event will be at the Stoney Batter Road entrance by the Residence Halls between Abel and Leach Halls – signs and staff will be present to help guide you!

  • Housekeeping Items
    • We ask that you do not bring air horns, balloons, vuvuzelas, or anything else that you think would be better suited for the afterparty. We’ll provide the celebration and confetti!
    • The below video is helpful in explaining how to wear your regalia. You do not have to arrive wearing it, but make sure you bring it or you will not be able to be in the Processional. Staff will available to assist you to make sure you are looking great!
    • Grad Images professional photographers will attend the event and will capture your walk across the stage! In addition, we will have two designated areas for pictures in the Joseph West Jones Center after the Ceremony is over.
    • Graduating students are required to attend their designated ceremony. No exceptions will be made.
    • Both Ceremonies will be livestreamed on this page for those who cannot attend.
