The Career Services Office provides individual career and employment assistance to students and alumni. Areas of focus include self-assessment, help with cover letters, résumés, interview techniques and opportunities to connect students and alumni with employers.

Career Fairs
Spring Career Fair and Networking Event

11 am - 1 pm and 3 pm - 5 pm
The Career Fair is a great networking opportunity to meet with employers and learn more about the full-time, part-time and internship opportunities within their companies.
Career Fair and Networking Event Tips:- Research employers attending the event, review Handshake or meet with Career Services for a current list of employers.
- Prepare a one minute presentation about yourself. Introduce yourself, state the degree you have or will receive, highlight your work experience and why you are interested in the company.
- Dress in professional neat attire.
- Be sure to obtain contact information from employers you meet with. After the event, email your résumé and contact information to employers you connected with at the event.

Internship Opportunities
All undergraduate students are encouraged to participate in the Internship Program prior to graduating. An internship helps the student enhance the student's professional skills with actual "hands-on" experience in the student's field of study. An internship is an excellent résumé builder, since most employers make hiring decisions based upon prior work related experience. It allows the student to stand out from the rest of the competition when searching for part-time or full-time opportunities.
Students are required to hold a GPA of 2.75 and to have completed at least half of their degree requirements at the time of application. The application process and required documents are accessed through Campus Web under the Career Services tab.
International Students
The Career Services Office is available to assist International Students for appropriate off-campus experiences including internships and career-related employment opportunities. Students are encouraged to schedule an appointment with a Career Services staff member.
International Students new to GBC and currently enrolled students who want to learn more about the College's Curricular Practical Training program or to obtain a Curricular Practical Training packet can access the information and documents through Campus Web, the student portal, under the International Student link from the Career Services tab.

Placement Results
Goldey-Beacom College is extremely proud of its historically strong emphasis on careers – an approach that has produced historically high job placement within months of graduation. Each year's graduates are asked to complete a survey reporting employment status, salary, and satisfaction. With over a 90% response rate, survey results show high placement and graduates working in the field for which they have been trained or chosen to work.
