Services & Facilities

Laundry Rooms

Free laundry is available in each residence hall. Students can report malfunctioning machines to the Resident Assistant or the Office of Residence Life. Laundry should be promptly removed from washers and dryers upon completion of the cycle. The College is NOT responsible for lost, damaged or stolen items.

Mail

Resident students’ mail & packages can be picked up in the Communications Center which is located on the ground floor of the Fulmer Center. Students are notified through their GBC Email account when their mail and/or package is ready for pickup. Packages may be claimed during normal business hours.

All mail for residential students should be addressed as follows:
Student Name
Apartment Number and Residence Hall
4701 Limestone Road
Wilmington, DE 19808

The College is not responsible for perishable items sent or received through the mail. Mail is forwarded to students who are not current residents to the last official address on file with the Registrar’s Office only for two weeks after the student’s last date of residence. After two weeks, first class mail and packages will be returned to sender and any mail that is not first class will be discarded.

Supplies

Resident Assistants have light bulbs, first aid kits, flashlights, and vacuum cleaners for resident use. These items can be signed out by a student and returned within 24 hours. If the item is returned damaged, late, or not returned at all, the student’s account will be billed directly.

Commuter Students

Just over 50% of first-year students live on campus at Goldey-Beacom College, and many of them are from the local area. Just under 50% commute from home, and are a vital part of the Goldey-Beacom family. Our commuter students have access to all the same services and student activities as residential students, and find ample opportunity to make friends with residential students and fellow commuters alike.

Unlike many college campuses, Goldey-Beacom offers free parking for all students. Study spaces abound across campus, both indoors and out, for time between classes. A newly-expanded and newly-equipped fitness center is available for use by all students, and newly-expanded dining facilities offer the opportunity to remain on campus through mealtime. Commuter students can even opt for the same meal plans available to residential students, so they may enjoy the same meal discounts! All that’s missing for commuter students is a bed on campus—unless you count the couches in the student lounge areas.
