Health Insurance

Medical

The College provides full-time employees an opportunity to participate in a contributory group health insurance plan. Health insurance coverage options are reviewed each year at the time of renewal (July 1). Employee contributions are made on a pre-tax basis.

Dental

The College provides each full-time employee an opportunity to participate in a voluntary dental program. The cost of this insurance is totally borne by the employee. Employee contributions are made on a pre-tax basis.

Vision

The College provides each full-time employee an opportunity to participate in a voluntary vision program. The cost of this insurance is totally borne by the employee. Employee contributions are made on a pre-tax basis.

403(b) Plans

Goldey-Beacom College provides a Tax-Sheltered Annuity retirement plan (section 403(b) ) for all full-time employees, with participation mandatory by the first of the month following the date of hire. Full-time employees are required to contribute a minimum of 2.5% of their total compensation and will receive a College contribution according to the following schedule of full-time service to the College:

All Full-Time Employees:

  • Less than 10 full calendar yrs. of service
    • 5.5% of total compensation
  • 10 but less than 20 full calendar yrs. of service
    • 6.5% of total compensation
  • 20 or more full calendar yrs. of service
    • 7.5% of total compensation

Employees’ pensions are vested after three full Plan (calendar) years of service at the College are completed.

A full-time employee may elect to defer additional amounts up to the maximum contribution limit allowed by law. The Human Resources Office provides employees with information about the current elective deferral limits.

Life, Long-Term Disability and Short-Term Disability Insurance (Full-time Employees)

Life Insurance

The College provides each full-time employee with group life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance coverage equal to one and a half years’ regular annual salary up to a maximum of $200,000 at no cost to the employee.

Short-Term Disability

The College provides each full-time employee an opportunity to purchase short-term disability insurance. The insurance pays 60% of salary after a 14-day elimination period.  The cost of the insurance is totally borne by the employee.

Long-Term Disability

The College provides each full-time employee with long-term disability insurance at no cost to the employee.  The insurance pays 60% of salary after a 90-day elimination period.

Educational Benefits

All employees scheduled to work 9 months out of 12 months in a calendar, their dependents and spouses are eligible for the educational benefits at the College at a minimum of 33.33% tuition remission and up to 100% tuition remission. For more information, please contact GBC HR.
