Financial Aid Checklist

Transfer Students

2026 – 2027

Transferring to another school can be a messy financial aid process. Avoiding common pitfalls can make your transfer experience much smoother.

Transferring to another school (before or during a new academic year) can be stressful in a student’s life, as financial aid awards do not automatically transfer over to a new school. This checklist allows you to navigate the transfer process with minimal hassle.

  • Add Goldey-Beacom College’s federal school code (001429) to your 2026-27 FAFSA.
Complete the admissions process by submitting all previous college transcripts to your
    admissions representative.
  • Review your transfer credit evaluation with your academic advisor or admissions
representative to ensure you understand the number of credits you receive as a transfer
student. The number of transfer credits you receive determines your grade level for financial
    aid packaging.
  • Review your financial aid offer and schedule a meeting with the Financial Aid Office to discuss
your financial aid package. Transfer students may have a different financial aid package than
traditional students due to their previous financial aid history at other institutions.
  • Using the financial aid student portal, accept or decline your financial aid awards before the
    semester begins.
  • Start your classes and make the best of your time at GBC!
