The true measure of a college’s impact is found in the accomplishments of its graduates. Goldey-Beacom College is proud to recognize alumni who lead with purpose, excel in their professions, and make meaningful contributions to their communities. 

Established in 1983, the Distinguished Alumni Gallery program honors graduates whose achievements reflect the values, integrity, and leadership that define Goldey-Beacom College. Each year, members of the Alumni Association Board of Directors select individuals whose professional success, service, and commitment to others exemplify what it means to achieve greater. 

We invite you to nominate an alumnus whose story deserves to be recognized. 

You’ll be asked to provide the following information about your nominee:

  • Their full name
  • Their email address
  • Their phone number
  • Their LinkedIn or online resume
  • What award are you nominating them for?
  • How do they meet the criteria? 

Distinguished Alumni

The Distinguished Alumni Award bestows recognition of and appreciation for outstanding accomplishments to deserving alumni of Goldey-Beacom College. The recipient has attained distinction in professional achievements, has made significant contributions to society, and has demonstrated and upheld the core values of Goldey-Beacom College while exhibiting integrity, leadership, and professionalism. Considerations also include career longevity, excellence in career, community, or profession, and humanitarian service. Nominees cannot hold elected office. 

Eligibility 

  • Nominees must be alumni of Goldey-Beacom College. 
  • A person who is not selected may be nominated again in subsequent years. 

Criteria

Individuals receiving the Distinguished Alumni Award will have demonstrated all or some of the following primary criteria: 

  • Outstanding achievements in their chosen profession or other area of endeavor. 
  • Demonstrated and upheld the core values and mission embraced by Goldey-Beacom College. 
  • Contributed to Goldey-Beacom College or made significant humanitarian contributions to the community at large. 
  • Must have graduated from Goldey Beacom College at least 5 years prior to receiving the award. 

Rising Star Award

The Rising Star Award was established in 1997 and is presented biennially at the Distinguished Alumni Gallery Dinner. This award is given to an outstanding graduate of GBC age 40 or under who has excelled in both their professional and community related activities. The recipient has attained distinction in professional achievements, has made significant contributions to society, and has demonstrated and upheld the core values of Goldey-Beacom College. Nominees cannot hold elected office. 

Eligibility 

  • Nominees must be alumni of Goldey-Beacom College. 
  • Nominees must be age 40 and under. 
  • A person who is not selected may be nominated again in subsequent years. 

Criteria

The persons receiving the Goldey-Beacom College Rising Star Award will have demonstrated all or some of the following primary criteria: 

  • Outstanding achievements in their chosen profession or other area of endeavor. 
  • Demonstrated and upheld the core values and mission embraced by Goldey-Beacom College. 
  • Contributed to Goldey-Beacom College or made significant humanitarian contributions to the community at large. 

Presidential Alumni

The Presidential Alumni Award is from the office the President of Goldey Beacom College and the president of the board of the Alumni Association. The recipient of this award must have graduated at least 20 years prior to the award year and demonstrated outstanding service and dedication to the education of others in business. Nominees cannot hold elected office. 

Eligibility 

  • Nominees must be alumni of Goldey-Beacom College. 
  • A person who is not selected may be nominated again in subsequent years. 

Criteria

An individual receiving the Presidential Alumni Award will have demonstrated all or some of the following primary criteria: 

  • Outstanding service in business education, including advocacy and financial support, in support of the Goldey-Beacom community, the local business community and/or the national business community. 
  • Demonstrated passion and support through teaching, advocating for education equality and/or educating members of their own community. 
  • Demonstrated and continue to uphold the core values and mission embraced by Goldey-Beacom College.
