Are you a high school senior or a current college student looking for additional gift aid for the upcoming academic year? If yes, pay attention to this scholarship opportunity that may captivate you. The New Castle County League of Women Voters is offering 4 awards totaling $1,000 each. This scholarship is open to any New Castle County high school graduating senior or a currently enrolled full-time college student with a home address in New Castle County, DE.

Founded as a nonpartisan political organization, the League of Women Voters is committed to creating an informed and actively engaged public in government affairs. Its primary aim is to influence public policy through education and advocacy.

Interested students must review three documents before applying for the scholarship: an application form, an essay or video prompt form, and an evaluation rubric. After completing a brief application form, students must write an essay or create a video that answers one of the prompt questions. Students must then combine all completed documents into one single compressed, zipped folder and email it to [email protected]. Include your name in the subject line and all submitted file names.

Students will also need two recommendation letters by the deadline date. Recommenders must use the organization’s approved recommendation form. The deadline to submit all applications is 5:00 p.m. on April 5. The organization will not review late or incomplete submissions.

Students with questions or a need for additional clarity should email [email protected].

Don’t dither too long, or you could miss out on an opportunity to potentially earn a $1,000 scholarship.
