What is the 1098-T form? Who receives a 1098-T form? When and how will I get it?
The 1098-T is a tax form that colleges & universities provide each year. It reports:

  • Qualified tuition & fees billed or paid, and
  • Scholarships or grants you received for the tax year

This form can help you (or parents/guardians) determine eligibility for education-related tax credits.

You will receive a 1098-T if:

  • You were enrolled in courses during the tax year.
  • You were charged qualified tuition & fees.

Some students may not receive this form if:

  • Tuition was fully covered by scholarships or 3rd party payments
  • Enrollment was for non-credit courses
1098-T forms are available by January 31st each year.

You can access your form electronically through Campus Web in the Finances tab.

OR

A paper copy will be mailed if you did not choose electronic delivery.

Helpful Reminder

Universities and colleges cannot provide tax advice. For question about how the 1098-T form affects your taxes, please consult a qualified tax professional or the IRS Resource Guide at www.irs.gov.
