Goldey-Beacom College Announces Commencement Schedule

Wilmington, DE – Goldey-Beacom College (GBC) officially kicks off Delaware’s graduation season with its 136th Commencement Ceremonies on Friday, May 5, 2023, in the gymnasium in the Joseph West Jones Center on the GBC campus.

  • Keynote speaker Dorrell Green, superintendent, Red Clay Consolidated School District
  • Ceremony for undergraduate and graduate students

Mr. Green is the superintendent of the Red Clay Consolidated School District, a position he has held since March 2019. A 26-year career educator, Mr. Green has served as a classroom teacher, a longtime school administrator and now leads the largest comprehensive district in the state of Delaware. In addition to serving on the Goldey-Beacom College Board of Trustees, Mr. Green serves on the boards of community organizations including in a leadership role with the Delaware Compassionate Schools Learning Collaborative, a group that is committed to shifting the paradigm for student learning supports.  He was a standout defensive back for the University of Delaware Blue Hens, and in 2019 was inducted into their Athletics Hall of Fame.

Founded in 1886, Goldey-Beacom College has approximately 1,300 students enrolled from 22 states and 65 nations. The College offers 46 degree options in its graduate and undergraduate programs with majors in psychology, economics, criminal justice, communication & media, human services, English, and all areas of business, including accounting, business administration, entrepreneurship, and finance.

The College began accepting students into two new degree programs in fall 2022: B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies; B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Business Analytics. Also new in fall 2022, the College is offering five new undergraduate certificate programs including marketing, human resource management, health care management, entrepreneurship and information technology.

In fall 2023, the College plans to offer two additional degrees: Bachelor of Science in Marketing; Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Digital Marketing.

The College is committed to connecting its graduates with careers in their respective fields. For over a decade, the College has achieved a 90% placement rate for graduates. Goldey-Beacom College is located in Pike Creek Valley, a suburb of Wilmington, Delaware. The College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs.
