Wilmington, DE (03/31/2026) — Wilmington, Del. – The Goldey-Beacom College community and the public are invited to celebrate the fifth annual Earth Day on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the InnerSource Wellness Center and Urban Regenerative Sustainability site in Wilmington.
Hosted by the GBC Eco-Justice and Sustainability Student Affinity Group, the event is presented in collaboration with InnerSource Wellness Center, Urban Regenerative Sustainability, and the University of Delaware Environmental and Eco-Justice Group. The daylong celebration will bring together students, faculty, community partners, and residents to share ideas, volunteer, and participate in activities focused on sustainability, environmental stewardship, and community wellness.
The event will be held at InnerSource Wellness Center, located at 3101 Skyline Drive in Wilmington, a regenerative permaculture farm and healing space led by Dr. Melvina Brown, executive director of InnerSource and a member of Goldey-Beacom College’s adjunct faculty.
Dr. Brown was recently honored with the Transform Mid-Atlantic Transformational Partnership Award, recognizing the impactful collaboration between InnerSource Wellness Center and Goldey-Beacom College that provides students with hands-on learning experiences in community engagement, sustainable food systems, and environmental stewardship.
“Events like Earth Day create opportunities for students and community members to come together in service of the planet and one another,” Dr. Brown said. “Through shared learning and collaboration, we can build a more sustainable and compassionate future.”
Faculty members involved in planning the event include Dr. Jamila Davey, Dr. Traci Currie, Dr. Kevin Hunt, and Dr. Melvina Brown.
