  Office of Institutional Research and Training Assistant (Part Time)
   

Goldey-Beacom College is accepting applications for a part-time assistant for the Office of Institutional Research and Training. This is a 19 hour per week position. Principal job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • performing routine administrative duties (typing, filing, scanning documents, handling incoming and outgoing mail)
  • providing instructional technology support to faculty (i.e. addressing faculty questions and troubleshooting issues regarding software and services provided presently by the College Ė such as regarding the LMS (Campus Web), classroom technology, and Office 365
  • processing and maintaining faculty lab reservation requests on the central online calendar
  • compiling and analyzing data for statistical reports
  • responding to ad hoc data requests with needed data reports or routing to another office as appropriate
  • conducting training on various topics related to educational technology and/or data analysis, as appropriate
  • onboarding new faculty hires on instructional technology topics and ensuring that required onboarding activities related to facultyís educational technology competency are completed in a timely manner
  • updating existing and designing new training guides and resource materials on related topics

Face-to-face teaching and/or training experience with adult learners is preferred. Hybrid and/or online-only experience providing training or teaching is a plus. Experienced and comfortable using Skype for video calls is preferred, however training can be provided.  Strong communication skills, including excellent writing skills, a strong background in customer service, in addition to the ability to juggle multiple demands, priorities, and deadlines, are essential. This individual must be a motivated, goal-oriented, self-starter, with extensive experience working independently with defined deadlines. A bachelorís degree in a related field is required.  Candidates must have the ability to lift at least 25 pounds daily or when needed.  

Applicants are expected to have a strong background in computers with expert knowledge in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access applications. A competency exam (taken at the College), covering job-specific necessary technical skills in these applications, will be required of each potential candidate. Candidates meeting or exceeding a 75% score on the competency exam may be offered an interview. Microsoft Office Specialist certifications in the 2013 or 2016 (Windows) versions of these applications are required within the first two months of employment and may be taken at the College.

  Security Officer (Part Time)
   

Goldey-Beacom College is accepting applications for part-time Security Officer positions.  Shifts include day, evening, and overnight hours.  Applicants must be 21 years of age or older and have a valid driverís license. Candidates must have the ability to make rounds by foot consistently during the shift and lift at least 35 pounds when needed.  Applicants are expected to have a strong background in computers with knowledge in Word, Excel, and Outlook applications and strong communication abilities, including excellent writing skills.  A high school diploma is required and security experience is preferred.  Current Goldey-Beacom College students are ineligible for the position and need not apply.  Training and uniforms are provided.  Interested applicants should send a resume, letter of application, and a completed GBC Employment Application  to Michael DiEleuterio, Coordinator of Security, Goldey-Beacom College, dieleum@gbc.edu.
