Essentials of Assessment PSY 645 T 08/24/26 - 10/18/26 3 This course is designed to introduce students to the application and integration of psychological assessment into practice. Students will learn the many ways in which assessment can improve diagnosis and provide clarity in instances were diagnosis may be more complex. They will also learn ways to integrate assessment measures into practice as a tool for deepening the therapeutic alliance. Essentials of assessment will cover self-report, projective, and more structured scales commonly used in practice. This will include a variety of mood, personality, and safety scales.
Substance Use Disorders PSY 649 W 10/19/26 - 12/13/26 3 This course is designed as advanced study of fundamental assumptions, principles, theories, and constructs that are essential for advanced understanding of factors contributing to the development, maintenance, and treatment of substance abuse disorders. In this way students will be provided foundational preparation for working with clients struggling with issues related to substance abuse. Students will be exposed to salient theories and empirically grounded therapeutic practice protocols and how each may apply to working with individuals, couples, families, and groups. This course is thus designed to help students develop necessary conceptual knowledge, practical skills, and self-awareness concerning the etiology of addiction, assessment strategies, counselor self-care, and assessment and treatment planning.
Crisis Intervention PSY 651 R 10/19/26 - 12/13/26 3 This course is designed to provide the student with grounded understanding of the fundamentals of crisis management and crisis leadership. Students will develop an understanding of salient theories and practices designed to effectively and quickly respond to a variety of crises and related traumas. Students will examine historical and contemporary models of response with the goal of becoming knowledgeable of and skillful in crisis response and crisis management. Students will also develop understanding individual, familial, ethical, legal, cultural and diversity factors fostering and/or hindering effective response. Students will also examine their own biases to deepen necessary self-awareness needed for effective self-care and to combat compassion fatigue.
Principles of Supply Chain Mgmt SCM 600 TBA 08/24/26 - 10/18/26 3 This course will introduce, examine, and explore the concepts and constructs of Supply Chain Management as they apply to an ever-changing global landscape. Discussion will focus on the benefits of Supply Management as it relates to (a) the optimization benefit and global considerations in a dynamic world; (b) the technological and operational implications which organizations could leverage both within and external to their organizations and (c) the sustainability drivers and consideration to be factored into the strategic landscape to promote global engagement.
