Know the Student. See the Impact. Change a Life.

When you give to the Founders Circle, you don’t just fund a scholarship. You invest in one student from their first day at Goldey-Beacom College through graduation. Your commitment becomes their opportunity.

I have benefited tremendously over the years from the education I received and from my involvement with the College. Today, scholarships play a critical role in making the cost of a college education more affordable, and I believe it is important to give back and help lessen the financial burden of future generations.

What is the Founders Circle?

The Goldey-Beacom College Founders Circle Scholarship Fund honors the spirit that has guided the College since 1886: the belief that education changes lives. Each Founders Circle member commits $2,500 per year for four years ($10,000 total) to establish a named scholarship for a deserving student with:

  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Leadership potential
  • A commitment to community engagement

This distinctive fund provides a scholarship that follows one student throughout their four-year journey at Goldey-Beacom College. As a Founders Circle donor, you will:

  • Be matched with your scholarship recipient
  • Receive annual updates on their progress
  • Receive a personal letter of thanks from your student
  • Meet your student at the annual Founders Circle Recognition Dinner
  • Know exactly who your gift is helping and how

Institutional and merit scholarships are very beneficial. Scholarships pay for my entire ride here. So, I don’t pay anything out of pocket to come here. Being a resident assistant pays for my housing. I get that scholarship, and then a merit scholarship on top of that. And then the affordability scholarship. I’ll graduate college with minimal debt.

The Impact Scholarships Have

For many Goldey-Beacom students, scholarships are the difference between enrolling and walking away. Founders Circle scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate financial need, leadership potential, and a commitment to their communities.

Your four-year commitment provides:

  • Stability
  • Encouragement
  • A direct relationship with someone whose life you are helping shape

This is philanthropy made personal.

I was very fortunate to be able to receive the education I did from Goldey-Beacom College. My company offered a tuition aid program that helped with a majority of the cost. After I received my master’s degree my first thought was not “where do I go from here?.” I wanted to be part of the College and try, in some way, to give something back. I applied to the GBC Alumni Association. I served on the Board of Directors for many years as recording secretary. When I was approached about the Founders Circle I was immediately intrigued. This was a way to give back again. To invest in a very special person and give them an opportunity to shine, to lead, and to serve future generations from a top grade education.
