Wilmington, DE – Goldey-Beacom College (GBC) is pleased to announce the launch of two new degree programs for fall 2022 enrollment. Both programs were approved on March 31, 2022 by the Delaware Department of Education.
These two programs have been developed to provide expanded options for students. GBC President Colleen Perry Keith said, “Data Analytics is something that both employers and students were asking for. Interdisciplinary studies will allow students to create a unique major that closely matches the career path they envision. The College listens closely to employers through our Career Services Advisory Board and seeks to meet their needs through our academic programs. These new programs address those needs.”
Dr. Keith continued, “We anticipate strong student interest in these programs based upon the student and employer input we have received. We have several other programs and certificates in the design pipeline that we will be seeking approval for going forward. We believe that certificates will provide a way for individuals to get workforce ready with just a few classes, and once complete, certificates will be able to be stacked into a degree program if the student so desires.”
B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies
The Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies is an innovative program designed to offer students choice and flexibility. It will enable them to choose courses of study that align with their unique interests, passions and talents. This program focuses student attention on the interplay between academic fields and the ways that a broad range of course materials can prepare them to address the complex, multifaceted problems of today and tomorrow. Students who graduate with this major may be able to gain employment in a wide range of fields including education, marketing, communications, human resources, banking and many others.
B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Business Analytics
The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Business Analytics is designed to provide students with foundational skills to organize, manage and interpret data to enhance the decision-making process. Students will use current analytical tools and techniques. Computer programming and software application skills will be developed. An applications-oriented senior project will enable students to learn how to communicate meaningful insights from data to key decision makers.
Founded in 1886, Goldey-Beacom College has approximately 1,300 students enrolled from 22 states and 65 nations. The College offers 42 degree options in its graduate and undergraduate programs with majors in psychology, economics, criminal justice, communication & media, human services, English, and all areas of business, including accounting, business administration, entrepreneurship, and finance.
The College is accepting students into two new degree programs in fall 2022: B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies; B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Business Analytics. Both were approved in March 2022 by the Delaware Department of Education.
