You’ll recognize and embrace your role as an energetic social change advocate for the populations you serve.
As an MACP graduate, you’ll be armed with a needed heightened cultural sensitivity which will serve you well when working with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds. Finally, you will also cultivate key interpersonal qualities, including respect, compassion, empathy, self-awareness, and honesty, to help foster a strong and meaningful professional relationship with clients.
The Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology (MACP) is fully accredited under the College’s institutional accreditation through the Middle States Council on Higher Education. However, the College is also currently seeking programmatic accreditation through the Master’s in Psychology and Counseling Accreditation Council (MPCAC).
The program concludes with two faculty-directed 300-hour practicums that provide invaluable experiential learning opportunities.

The Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology is a rigorous program of study that provides all the coursework necessary to meet one of the two primary requirements necessary to be eligible to sit for licensure exams on the path to becoming a licensed professional counselor.
All licensing requirements vary slightly by individual state and by specific license. It’s important to note, that in addition to the earned credit hours provided by this program, students will still need to accumulate supervised hours after graduation to satisfy eligibility requirements for licensing exams. Those hours must be earned within a prescribed time frame determined by the respective state. While not all positions require licensure, this can be a critical piece to career success. The MACP program is designed to help you best prepare for whatever track you want to pursue upon graduation.

Courses are offered in both hybrid and online synchronous formats. Our Fall-only cohort model means you’ll start in August. The cohort is structured with 2 courses in each eight-week session (Fall & Spring) and completes the program coursework in 2 years.

Our next start is August 2026. The application deadline is July 1, 2026, but we recommend applying early to allow time for transcript verification and letters of recommendation.
Tuition for the 2026-27 academic year is $725 per credit hour, or $2,175 per 3-credit course. MACP students typically complete 24 credits each academic year, which means their estimated tuition costs are approximately $17,400. Students who enroll in practicums should note that practicums cost $4,350 per course (6 credits * $725 per credit hour). Students can review the College’s graduate cost of attendance budget to better understand their direct and indirect costs during their educational studies at GBC.
Yes! Students who are accepted and enroll in the MACP program by June 1st, 2026, may be eligible for the MACP Choice Grant, which helps reduce the overall cost of tuition in the program. Additional support options including federal financial aid, interest-free payment plans, and tuition deferral for employer reimbursement are all available.
