Undergraduate Admissions

Please review Goldey-Beacom College’s admission requirements for international, undergraduate applicants who are seeking or are currently on an F-1 student visa, including applicants seeking a Change of Status to F-1.

F-1 Student Visa, Including Change of Status to F-1

A completed, online application.
Secondary school transcripts and/or diploma with final exam or course grades translated into English.
- Applicants who are transferring will need to submit official transcripts from all US institutions they have attended.
Proof of English Proficiency documented by a TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo English Test scores with the following minimum scores: TOEFL IBT (Internet-Based Test): minimum 60, IELTS band score: minimum 5.5, or Duolingo English Test: minimum 90.
- Applicants who completed 12 academic credits or more in English or who are applying from a nation wherein English is designated as a national language do not need to submit English Proficiency documentation.
SAT and/or ACT scores are optional, but applicants are encouraged to submit these test scores as they may qualify for a higher merit scholarship.
Financial documentation that demonstrates access to the Cost of Attendance as it appears on page 1 of the Form I-20. Bank statements clearly showing the name of the account holder as well as two-months’ worth of paystubs are the accepted documents for demonstrating financial ability.
- Applicants may use another person’s finances to demonstrate their financial ability. However, a completed, notarized Affidavit of Support and Bank Statement (PDF) must be submitted with the financial documentation.
- The Cost of Attendance accounts for direct and in-direct costs of pursuing an education in the U.S. Therefore, the amount an applicant needs to demonstrate will be above and beyond tuition, room, and meal plan fees.

  - - Any applicant wishing to transfer credits from an international institution to count toward their Goldey-Beacom College degree must have the transcripts evaluated by a third-party, education credential verification group, such as World Education Services (WES) or SpanTran.

Admissions/ Academic Questions

Does your college have any STEM-degrees?

At this time, the College has one STEM-designated degree program, the MBA, Analytical Track.

What is the application deadline for X Semester/Session?

The College does not have any application deadlines. However, since the admissions process requires time and documentation gathering, we recommend waiting no more than three weeks prior to the start of a session to submit your application. This ensures that you have everything set and arranged prior to the start of classes. You can view upcoming session start dates by visiting gbc.edu and finding “Academic Resources” under the Academics heading. The Academic Resources page will link you to the College’s Academic Calendar, which details the start date of each session along with the designated Saturday class dates and modalities.

What is the status of my application?

Application review can take up to 2 weeks from when you submitted your supporting documentation*. The best way to procure an update on your application is to send an email to [email protected]. It may take them some time to provide you with the most comprehensive answer.

How frequently do students need to attend on-site?

Graduate hybrid courses are typically held on Saturdays and require students to attend on-site for two out of the four class meetings. Over an 8-week session, students enrolled in a hybrid course must come to the College twice, typically once per month.

Visa/ Employment Questions

Do any of your programs offer Day 1 CPT?

All of the College’s graduate business programs allow for eligible students to apply for Day 1 CPT. Information regarding eligibility for CPT can be found on the College’s website on the International Admissions page.*

How can I apply for CPT?

In order to apply for CPT, you need to first apply and receive acceptance into an academic program. Once you’ve been accepted and confirmed your intentions to enroll, someone from International Admissions will supply you with the information and application forms for CPT. You will need to work with your employer to complete these forms and produce a verification of employment letter. Any further questions about CPT employment or guidance on how to navigate this application process should be address to International Admissions, [email protected].

I need my I-20 Reinstated; does the College support students seeking Reinstatement?

No, the College unfortunately will not accept students who are needing Reinstatement.

I’m currently on ___ visa and would like to change my status. Does the College support students seeking Change of Status?

Yes, the College will provide any accepted student with the applicable documentation to file for a Change of Status. Any further questions about changing your visa status should be directed to International Admissions, [email protected], as they have more specific training and knowledge related to submitted requests to USCIS.

When should I transfer my SEVIS record to GBC?

The latest we can accept your SEVIS record is the first day of classes.

Technology/ Account Questions

I can’t access my Canvas account.

Students’ Canvas accounts are not created until they have been registered for classes. If your course registration has not yet been finalized, you will not have a Canvas account. If you are waiting for your Registration to be finalized, please reach out to Hannah Bakey, [email protected], for course approval or to schedule an appointment for course registration.

I’m registered for a class, but I can’t see my Canvas page.

As long as you are able to see your Canvas dashboard, then everything is as it needs to be. If you know that your registration for a course has been finalized, but you don’t see the specific Canvas page for that course, it means the faculty member still needs to publish their course in Canvas for students to access. Any questions you have about the upcoming course content, schedule or syllabus should be directed toward your instructor.

I can’t view online course registration.

Once you have confirmed your intention to enroll with the College, it can take up to one week for your account to be enabled for online course registration. This is an automatic process completed by the College’s Registrar’s Office on a periodic basis.

If you have not confirmed your intentions to enroll and are trying to view online course registration, please reach out to International Admissions, [email protected], to inform them, and they will get your account in order.

How can I make a payment? / I’m registered for a course but do not see any fees associated.

You can make a payment or enroll in a payment plan under the “Finances” tab of your Campus Web account.

It takes some time for charges to be generated for any courses in which you enroll. If you do not see the charge by tomorrow, please reach out to the Business Office, [email protected].

I can’t access my GBC Campus Web account/email.

If you have received your credentials from the Office of Information Technology, but are unable to log-in, you will need to reach out to our Office of Information Technology for assistance with getting your credentials reset.
