A survey of global art history in which students are introduced to art and architecture from Prehistory to 1945. The emphasis of this course is on the content, terminology, and style of the major works of art from around the globe. The students will gain an understanding of the historical periods of art and how the art reflects the culture and society in which it was created.

In this one-week seminar course, we’ll take a chronological look at the Humanities (the creative expression of individual and community values) associated with people historically located in the region in which Goldey-Beacom College is situated. Of course, Goldey-Beacom is in the suburban area of a city now called “Wilmington,” in a state now called “Delaware,” but our region wasn’t always called by these names, nor were its geopolitical boundaries always as they are now. Too, Delaware-area culture has at times been indistinguishable from that of its neighbors in the contemporary states of New Jersey, Maryland, Pennsylvania. For these reasons, our topic of inquiry will be the history, arts, and culture associated with a more fluidly determined geographic region, which we’ll simply call, Here.

This course will introduce you to the fundamentals of Cloud Computing, Infrastructure and Networking, and will explore how the cloud is used in a range of situations, including IT, App Development and Machine Learning. By the end of the course you will know what the cloud is, and how to use it effectively. This course uses the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and was built in concert with the Google Cloud Learning Services team.

This course provides a thorough and complete coverage for the learning objectives for the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) PowerPoint 2019 Exam. Students will learn MS PowerPoint by using real world examples and labs. This course utilizes SAM 2019 and is applicable to the SAM 2019 License & Certification Program.

Therefore, understanding how they work is vital to understanding how computers power our world. This course will teach you the fundamentals of Operating System structure, function, and architecture, and prepare you to administer both Windows and Linux-based systems.

Because it’s cheap to launch attacks on every system you can find, virtually every organization and individual is always under some level of digital attack. This course will teach you how to help defend against this constant assault and keep valuable information and critical systems safe.

The course provides an understanding of the tools and develops practical skills for developing a variety of business applications over the Internet. In addition to acquiring basic skills for navigating the Internet and creating a personal electronic presence on the Web, the students will develop an understanding of the current practices and opportunities in e-banking, e-commerce, e-publishing and e-advertising, electronic shopping and distribution, e-marketing, social networking and more. The course also explores several of the problems surrounding e-business applications such as security and ethics.

This IT capstone course aims to increase students’ productivity by providing the skills and knowledge from the concentration to produce effective business projects. In addition, topics such as social networking, small business publications, photo editing, presentation graphics, multimedia, image processing, demo production and web design will be discussed.
